Visa

No visa required for those from the EU, most European countries, USA, Canada, Cyprus, Israel, Georgia, and the CIS. 90 days are allowed within a six-month period. Those entering through Transnistria must register within 72 hours at the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications in Chisinau. Vama

When entering/exiting Moldova, any person can carry up to 10,000 euros, larger amounts must be declared at customs. Objects such as art, historical artifacts, weapons, ammunition, hazardous substances require declaration. Items from duty-free zones are allowed, such as 200 cigarettes, 2 liters of wine or spirits, 5 liters of beer and gifts of up to 300 euros. Personal medications are allowed.
The national currency of Moldova is the Leu (MDL), subdivided into 100 money. Details about the appearance, nominal values and security elements of the banknotes issued by the National Bank of Moldova can be found on the official website.
Foreign currencies can be exchanged at banks or exchange offices. Most foreign exchange offices only deal in Euro, Dollar, Pound Sterling, Swiss Franc, Leu, Ukrainian Hryvnia, Russian Ruble and Turkish Lira.
ATM terminals are massively present on the territory of the country, including on the territory of the Chisinau International Airport, in the premises of the main banks and shopping centers. ATMs are multilingual.

Cards such as Visa, MasterCard, Maestro and American Express are accepted in Chisinau, but cash transactions predominate, especially in less touristy areas. The use of cards in small towns is limited.

Being still a destination unexplored by tourists, the prices in Moldova will please you. They are much smaller compared to the rest of Europe, North America or big cities such as Bucharest, Moscow or Kiev.
Foreigners can enter the Transnistrian region by filling out a short form, in duplicate, which they present to the border police together with their travel passport.
